Yesterday was Scan day for our next financial drain erm I mean reason for being and joy to our life or in short hand child.

We had decided in advance not to find out the Childs sex, regardless of whether it is a girl or a boy they will be sharing a bedroom with either Ruby or Mason anyway. Having said this when it came to the scan it was tempting to find out but we stuck to our guns.

The scan itself was phenomenal, so unbelievably clear. Part of the scan involved checking the heart, the picture was clear but being a geek I was impressed with the tech. The fact that you were able to see the blood being pumped through the heart and they were able to add colour to it so you could see which areas contained oxygenated blood was fantastic. As much as that blew me away the next bit like nothing id ever seen before.

The sonographer was able to position everything so that we were able to see our babies face front on. She then said “the babies eyes are closed look, when it opens them you will be able to see it’s iris” I thought I would fall off my chair but she was 100% bang on.

I am excited about our baby and can’t wait to find out whether they are male or female and then tell Jen before holding them for the first time.
